About Me

Who Am I?

Hi I'm Paul Scolnick. I worked with some of the largest brands in a variety of verticals including ecommerce, media and B2B. I worked on the product and engineering teams at Weight Watchers and was the first in-house SEO leading the migration over to the Drupal CMS platform. I'm now a Director of SEO at iQuanti primarily overseeing the Marcus by Goldman Sachs account and working internally with the acquisition team. I have worked on small projects for both Citibank and Chase.

    SEO Director iQuanti March 2018 - Present

    • Hired as subject matter expert to oversee SEO strategy at Marcus by Goldman Sachs and manage a team of SEO analysts. Provided internal training documents to the acquisition team.
    • SEO traffic to Marcus.com increased 20% and origination volume improved to 8% after the first 6 months of engagement.
    • Provided quantitative analysis on the product roadmap to determine priority order of SEO projects.
    • Created a historical analysis benchmarking time it took competitors to attain a top 3 ranking position in Google. This analysis helped to determine how long we could expect to achieve a top-ranking position.
    • Provided in depth analysis on answer box results and the Moz spam score tool.
    • Achieved answer box results for credit card consolidation loan (loans) as well as personal loans vs balance transfer amongst other competitive terms within lending.
    • Performed the keyword research for personal loans and debt and categorized each keyword to a funnel state based on intent.
    • Worked closely with editorial team on content briefs ensuring SEO elements were correctly attributed to each article.

    Associate Director SEO & Content HeBS Digital August 2017 - March 2018

  • Oversee both content and SEO teams with 5 direct reports.
  • Created roadmap checklists, workflows and weekly trainings to help SEO Analysts with their work and keep them up to date on industry trends.
  • Created and led presentations for prospective clients helping the sales team close SEO contracts for HeBS Digital. Led the SEO presentation to help close Virgin Hotels in Q4 2017.
  • Oversee and manage HeBS elite clients including Hard Rock, Loews Hotels, Virgin Hotels, Viceroy, Atton and Red Lion Hotels.
  • Worked closely with development & IT to enhance CMS features which included automated schema markup, canonical tags, ability to modify redirect status codes, custom 404 pages and href lang for international hotel sites.
  • Sr. SEO Manager Weight Watchers July 2015 - August 2017

  • SEO lead for international migration of all Weight Watchers domains to Drupal CMS and consolidating all domains to .com.
  • Managed external agency and created SEO roadmap based on prioritization to improve non-brand traffic. Reviewed agency decks and data for accuracy prior to delivery to executive team.
  • Improved global YoY subscribership 130% due to improvement in brand traffic.
  • YoY improvement of 40% to the ecommerce store due to migration, optimized site structure and content optimziations to product listings.

  • Responsible for 8 brands totaling $90M in revenue and 20M in web visits in 2014 contributing to 32% of the total SEO revenue and 30% of total SEO traffic.
  • Managed and coordinated the migration from OneStopPlus.com to FullBeauty.com ensuring domain equity and rankings remain preserved.
  • Lead a team of SEO Analysts, oversee SEO agency decision making and managed SEO budgeting for all brands.
  • Presented a 12-month SEO roadmap to the executive team which included competitive analysis of the plus size market, technical audit and content analysis.
  • Produce monthly & weekly reporting dashboards sharing insights into the performance of SEO.

  • Improved SEO & SEM performance of Reisreports.com resulting in 79% and 25% growth, respectively, over a 6 month period.
  • Implemented a PPC campaign segmented into localized search terms to drive qualified leads to targeted landing pages.
  • Added over 1700 pages to the site for algorithmic local search terms to improve traffic relevance and quality score.
  • Monitored competitor activity and researched trends to produce a content strategy (text and video) to improve inbound marketing initiatives.

  • In charge of all aspects of organic search marketing for the entire XO Group network of sites, attracting over 12MM+ unique visitors per month.

  • Increased TheKnot.com's YoY search traffic 30% (2.6M to 3.4M) and TheBump.com’s YoY search traffic 135% (938k to 2.2M)
